BRIEF SUMMARY:
The old and established department store in Yokohama that Takaoka Shunma, 40,
has worked at since graduating from university has been bought over and as a
result he loses his job. With his mother requiring nursing care among
other reasons, he returns to his hometown of Namihaya City in Osaka Prefecture
with his wife and son, and finds new employment at the municipal government that
his late father had worked at. It is March 2007. Just when he thought he could
lead a peaceful life, it is discovered that the city has a fiscal crisis. Shunma
is summoned to be a member of the project team hurriedly formed by the mayor,
Mizumoto Yukihiko, to revive the public finances …
