BRIEF SUMMARY: The Hongos are a family of four who live at the foot of the nearly completed Tokyo Skytree. Hongo Yuji (Nishikido Ryo) who gave up his dream of music which he had pursued since his student days, now works in human resources at a machinery manufacturer. To put it in a good way, he is earnest, but in truth is a coward unable to take risks. All the words that come out from his mouth are idealistic arguments. Because of the wave of recession, his job is to tell staff older than him that they have been dismissed as a result of restructuring. It is a difficult role but he tells himself with resignation that it is his work. However, before long it is his turn to be told that he has been laid off … … His wife, Sachiko (Mizukawa Asami), had taken advantage of her pregnancy to marry him. Now the mother of two children, she juggles several part-time jobs and works non-stop to earn money for the family. They are at their wits end. 劇 情﹕周五夜間劇《養狗這件事～Sky與我家的180天～》的主角是居住在即將完工的東京天空樹腳下舊住宅區的本鄉一家，由父親勇次（錦戶亮）、母親幸子（水川麻美）、八歲的兒子大（山崎龍太郎）和六歲的女兒真子（久家心）組成的家庭看起來和其他普通家庭一樣美滿幸福，但其實每個人的心中都隱藏著“無法說出口的事”。當這個面臨破裂的家庭遇到一只小狗，奇跡就發生了.....

 

本鄉勇次 (錦戶亮．30)
捨棄學生時代一直追求的音樂夢想，成為一名普通公司職員。

受經濟不景氣影響，他的工作是向前輩職員們通知解僱消息，這份工作常常必需下跪請求諒解，心裡抱著「因為是工作也沒辦法」一直勉強硬撐著，但是內心不免許多掙扎，直到公司要解僱認識的前輩窪田松夫時，知道對方的艱難處境，這份心情終於被打破，另外又看到朋友能隨心自在的玩音樂，內心開始動搖 ......

本鄉幸子(水川麻美．29)
奉子成婚，不得不放棄成為護士的夢想。白天在超市打工，生活節儉，連參加高中同學會的 $4000 也捨不得花，丈夫說可以幫她出這筆費用，讓她反問：「那去美容院跟買衣服的錢呢？」，讓對方一時啞口無言，內心一直告訴自己：「現在有很多事必需要忍耐」。

因為住公寓，所以反對養狗，正準備放生時，陰錯陽差之下，被其它媽媽看見她抱著小狗，一時難以下台，不得不改變主意。

堀田克彥(田口淳之介．29)
幸子的高中同學，東部醫學中心醫院醫生。屬於高中同學中的「勝者組」，也是這次同學會的主辦人。某一天偶遇多年不見的幸子之後，兩人經常碰面。過著窘迫生活的幸子不時被他坦率溫暖的話語和行動觸動。

本鄉真子(久家心．6)
本故事的述說者，本鄉家小女兒，小學一年級，非常喜歡東京的「天空樹」建築，夢想能長大能當天空樹的清潔者，是本鄉家唯一一個擔心家庭未來的人。

某日上學途中，她遇見了一隻小狗，眼睜睜看它被抓回動物收容所，一時情急翹課，假冒是狗主人想要救回小狗，沒想到被當場狠狠上了一課生命教育，幸好小狗自己逃了出來，取名為「天空樹」的小狗很快和她成為好朋友，並徹底改變了這個家……

本鄉大(山崎龍太郎．8)
本鄉家的大兒子，冷眼看世界，莫名其妙認為「天空樹完工之時就是我們家破裂之際」，其實很不想讓父母擔心，因此不得不說了很多謊。
