BRIEF SUMMARY:
Hosokawa Mitsuru (Karasawa Toshiaki) is the
company president of Aoshima Manufacturing, a medium-sized precision instrument
maker caught in a crisis of survival due to the recession and intense
competition with other companies in the industry. Hosokawa joined Aoshima
Manufacturing mid-career. His ability was appreciated by the founder and
chairman, Aoshima Tsuyoshi (Yamazaki Tsutomu) and he became the president
through an unprecedented promotion. However, Hosokawa’s promotion over all other
executives who have been at Aoshima Manufacturing all their lives is greatly
criticised by the people in the company. Shortly after he assumed his post, the
world is plunged into a recession which has its roots in a financial crisis, and
Aoshima Manufacturing is no exception. Its business falters. Hosokawa has to
face the ordeal of betting on the company’s survival as its president. How will

介紹:
熱愛棒球的羅斯福總統曾說“棒球比賽最有趣的就是8:7的時候”。位於東京郊外的中堅精密儀器生產商青島製造所每週按慣例舉行一次員工大會，並在會議上對業績以及預測進行報告。這一日的員工大會上，氣氛異常緊張。神情嚴峻的社長細川充（唐澤壽明）面前，員工們不停地怒吼。細川就任社長後不久，市場就因為金融形勢不好非常不景氣，青島製造所也未能倖免，開始遭受餘波的衝擊。
不僅被重要客戶提出會讓製造所遭受10億日元以上損失的降價條件，還被威脅說若不答應，就轉和競爭公司五輪電器合作。員工們因此在細川面前爭執不休。在員工的爭執中，專務笹井小太郎（江口洋介）向細川徵求意見，細川卻突然說要廢除棒球部，令眾員工啞然。細川報告說主要往來銀行也許會暫停下一季的融資，而廢部是向銀行展示縮減開支，重振公司姿態的一步。
每年耗費3億日元進行管理維護的青島製造所棒球部曾是社會人棒球的名門叱吒風雲，但由於公司業績低迷，已大不如前。現在不僅沒能發揮宣傳公司的作用反而成了累贅。部分員工認為細川的決策是一名經營者該有的判斷，表示支持。但笹井依舊再次向細川確認真的要廢部嗎。因為棒球部是公司的創立人現任會長青島毅（山崎努）創立的，已經是公司的傳統部門了。決心廢部的細川前往說服青島。同時，細川還面臨著來自大客戶可能導致一年70億日元損失的嚴峻生產調整要求。
重重困難面前，社長細川是否能突破重圍，在攸關公司存亡的這場戰役中獲勝，實現大逆轉。改編自《半澤直樹》作家池井戶潤同名小說《羅斯福遊戲》，《半澤》編劇導演製作再聚首。
