劇 情﹕北澤菊男(岡田准一飾演)與父親遼介(國村隼飾演)兩人心中存在著一條深邃不已的鴻溝，其原因係出於菊男在高中時，一時偶發的歹念出手偷書造成的，在菊男的就職面試時父親也提出了這段引以為恥的陳年往事，氣憤不已的菊男奪門而出，來到了一間名為「津田鞋店」的鞋店…
這間店是由膝下無子的中年夫妻津田宅次(井川比佐志飾演)，與光子(柴田理惠飾演)，津田夫妻非常的寵愛菊男，而菊男也非常地會向這對夫妻撒嬌。菊男自己的家族共有父親遼介、母親綾子(桶口可南子飾演)、祖父健吉(植木等飾演)以及自己等四名成員，但與自己冷淡的家人相比，津田家總是充滿了讓其感覺溫柔不已的氣氛。
某天，待在宅次的菊男與客人竹森日出子(長谷川京子飾演)變得很要好，十年前喪母的日出子為了照顧故鄉的失業父親與弟妹而投身進入了歡場當起了陪酒小姐，宅次面對日出子可說是知無不言，某日，宅次的祖夫請宅次帶著日出子一起前去照顧自己患病的愛人加代(寺島忍飾演)，日出子也發現了健吉爺爺對加代的愛，就當此時，加代又再度發生了劇烈的頭痛…
